初音ミク

Hatsune Miku (Japanese: 初音ミク, [hatsɯne miꜜkɯ]), officially code-named CV01,[2][3] is a Vocaloid software voicebank developed by Crypton Future Media. Its official mascot is depicted as a sixteen-year-old girl with long, turquoise twintails.[2] Miku's personification has been marketed as a virtual idol, and has performed at live virtual concerts onstage as an animated holographic projection (rear-cast projection on a specially coated glass screen).[4]

Miku uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2, Vocaloid 3, and Vocaloid 4 singing synthesizing technologies, alongside Crypton Future Media's Piapro Studio, a standalone singing synthesizer editor. She was the second Vocaloid sold using the Vocaloid 2 engine and the first Japanese Vocaloid to use the Japanese version of the 2 engine. The voice is modeled from Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita.

The name of the character comes from merging the Japanese words for first (初, hatsu), sound (音, ne), and future (ミク, miku),[a] thus meaning "the first sound of the future",[2] which, along with her code name, refers to her position as the first of Crypton's "Character Vocal Series" (abbreviated "CV Series"), preceding Kagamine Rin/Len (code-named CV02) and Megurine Luka (code-named CV03). The number 01 can be seen on her left shoulder in official artwork.

Hatsune Miku has been one of the most popular and recognizable characters in the popular culture throughout the early 2010s, and seen as a cultural icon in Japan. Her outfit is one of the most popular cosplayed outfit in fan conventions.

初音未来与镜音铃·连、巡音流歌、MEIKO、KAITO共称为“Piapro Characters”（piapro角色）[2]，或“初音未来和她的伙伴们”。初音未来也是Crypton“角色主唱系列”（Character Vocal Series）的第一作，代号为CV01。[注 1]

初音未来的日文与英文简称分别为“ミク”与“Miku”，而中文社区则经常简称为“初音”。

“初音未来”“初音ミク”“雪未来”“樱花未来”“赛车未来”等为Crypton在中国大陆地区的注册商标。

2014年末至今（2025年12月），上海新创华文化发展有限公司是初音未来等Crypton旗下虚拟歌姬角色形象、IP在中国大陆地区的版权总代理。

自发行以来，广大创作者和受众们与初音未来、Crypton公司共同建立着“向未来无限延续的‘初音未来’创作文化”。[3][4]
