Pancho Quixote is the nephew and heir of the current king of El Quixote, Ben Quixote. While he is not default candidate for inheritance, the king both believes in Pancho to carry on the throne and has limited faith in his biological sons to do better. Pancho also serves as general of the El Quixote knights, the largest body of soldiers in the entire World of Eve. Pancho met, and initially fought, Aster and his family while both were investigating an explosion in the mountains between Lancelot and El Quixote, which turned out to be one of Kathryn Lapucelle's experiments. The two became fast friends, a friendship that would prove mutually beneficial after Rocinante attempted to start a war between El Quixote and Kalar Village. Since Pancho was engaged to a Kalar woman, Lorenzo, Rocinante used her to provoke Pancho into killing disguised Outlaws on a live broadcast, causing a riot in the El Quixote military ranks and convincing the populace of a fictional "Kalar curse." With Kathryn Lapucelle's help, Pancho was able to make a counter-broadcast, helping to clear his name and giving Aster and friends time to stop Rocinante. Pancho and Lorenzo now live in El Quixote, where they hope to raise several Kalar children that will grow up to become future queens of El Quixote.
